About Arable Grow

We grow food.
We build farms.
We keep evolving.

Arable Grow is a South African food-tech company building a more resilient food system from the ground up. We combine commercial vertical farming, locally grown superfood microgreens, modular farm technology and practical automation.

Built in the Western Cape Grower first. Engineer always.

Our systems are shaped by operating real farms ourselves, not just designing them on paper.

Why we exist

Food systems should work closer to where people live.

Arable started with a simple question: can we grow better food, closer to the people who eat it, using dramatically fewer resources?

The answer became bigger than farming. To make local production commercially useful, we had to think about the whole system: farm hardware, crop knowledge, automation, operating processes, market demand and what happens to the crop after harvest.

That is why Arable today is part grower, part engineering company and part food innovator.

01

Grow

We operate vertical farms and supply fresh, pesticide-free superfood microgreens to hospitality, retail and food businesses.

02

Build

We engineer containerised farms, modular racks, baths, sensors and practical systems for commercial growers.

03

Automate

Mission Control brings farm operations, traceability, compliance and data into one operating layer.

04

Create

Products such as Supersonic Greens extend what can be created from nutrient-dense crops beyond the fresh-produce aisle.

Good Agricultural Practices

GAP-certified growing, built into the way we operate.

For Arable, certification is not just a badge. It means the farm is run through documented processes designed around food safety, hygiene, traceability and consistent production.

Certified standards

Good food starts with good systems.

Our GAP certification supports the controls behind how we grow, handle and record our produce. It gives customers confidence that the system behind the crop is as carefully managed as the crop itself.

TraceabilityDocumented crop and production records that support accountability from planting through harvest.
Food safety & hygieneDefined cleaning, handling and operating procedures designed to protect product quality.
Consistent farm proceduresRoutine checks, documented workflows and compliance records form part of day-to-day farm operations.
Certified pesticide-freeOur fresh produce positioning is supported by verified pesticide-free production standards.
Certification is part of a broader operating philosophy at Arable: build the process properly, document it, measure it and keep improving it.
What makes Arable different

We build from the farm outward.

Vertical farming is not one product. It is an operating system. Arable combines horticulture, engineering, software and real customer demand because each part affects whether a farm actually works commercially.

G

We are growers

Our technology is informed by real production. We experience the labour, crop, quality and reliability challenges ourselves, then design around them.

E

We are engineers

Low-CAPEX and modular matters. We focus on practical systems, local sourcing and equipment that can be maintained in the markets where it operates.

F

We think beyond the farm

A farm only succeeds if the market works too. Fresh produce, value-added products, data and distribution all form part of the commercial model.

The journey

From a farm idea to a food-tech platform.

The business has expanded as we learned what growers and food customers actually need. Each new capability came from solving a real problem inside the system.

The beginning

Prove the growing model.

Arable began by focusing on controlled-environment production and supplying high-value, nutrient-dense crops close to market.

Build capability

Engineer the system around the crop.

Hardware, modular farm design, operating procedures and automation became part of the business as the team worked to make vertical farming more practical and scalable.

Arable today

Fresh food, farm technology and what comes next.

Arable now works across fresh produce, farming systems, Mission Control and consumer innovation such as Supersonic Greens, with Western Cape roots and national ambitions.

Our people

Built by a multidisciplinary founding team.

Arable was shaped by people from engineering, finance, technology, horticulture, operations and market development. Today the operating team is supported by co-founders who remain involved as consultants.
